Device 3 – Pulley-Belt

The user holds the device by the housing (4) and inserts it inside the trocar (2).  The guides (3) keep the device aligned with respect to the trocar (2) and the housing (4) acts as a stop and makes sure that the device is in place, see Figure 2.

Once the device is in place, the user activates the motor (5). The motor rotates the pulley (6), which moves the belt (7) around it. The belt, consequently, makes the pulley (8) rotate activating blade (10) to rotate upwards, see Figure 3. Blade (11) is activated in a similar way.

Once the blades (10) and (11) are opened, the user retrieves the device together with the trocar (2) opening a larger controlled incision.  The size of the incision is determined by the size of the opened blades (10).   The user can now remove the large mass (40) through the new enlarged incision.
